There's No Place Like Home (Wednesday, June 30, 2004) |
I'm home as of last night and I am relaxing a bit. I need to catch up on "real" work, so the DHBIS, Forum, Blondie.net, the Blog, the pics and video from the trip will have to wait for a little while. My trip ended up costing about 150% of my budget, so I'll be working overtime for a while!

Almost Home (Monday, June 28, 2004) |
I'm in LA now, at Jamez Palacio's house.
The entire trip was great, Sean and Dave are very accomadating, and Europe is beautiful to be sure. So much stuff has happened that I can't cover it right now, but when I get home I'll write out what happened and post it...

Apple Rocks (Wednesday, June 16, 2004) |
I'm sitting here in the Amsterdam Apple Store which is beautiful and Sean and Dave and I are going to a smoke shop and then out to hit one of the three or four gay areas. We saw the red light district last night and it was... interesting. The girls are really pretty and the boys are all drunk. Hehehe. We're in a camping park - Sean and Dave got a room (!) and I have a tent. Everything is fun and everyone here is super friendly and nice. (Photo by Matt Fleischmann courtesy IFO Apple Store.)

Blondie Rocked (Tuesday, June 15, 2004) |
Just a quick note to say Blondie was great last night. The version of "Undone" they did included sound effects from "Rush Rush"! They also did "Angels On The Balcony"! :) Off to Amsterdam today. The blogs are sparse, but I'm filming everything so there will be a big "article" on tikilab when I get home and can process it all.

Lost In London (Saturday, June 12, 2004) |
We've been sightseeing in London for three days now. Lots of stuff to see and not nearly enough time (or foot power) to see it all.
Had a great time at The King's Arms last night. Met some really cool guys, including one supa-cute Gary who took me under his wing and showed me around.
Had some trouble today getting back to Westcombe Station from London Bridge. The train was not running today because of construction or something. However, it wasn't posted that it wasn't running, it was simply cancelled, and the resource it pointed to ("See The Poster") was not helpful in the least. So it took me about 3 hours to get back to Diddy's place when it should have taken a half hour. :p I'm sure if I lied here it wouldn't be so hard.
Now Sean and Dave seem to be lost - they went out for a quick dinner about four hours ago and never got back. Megawoof started a half hour ago... if they don't show by 11 PM I will go without them. (Did they go straight there? They haven't called either way...) I sort of dread it, because that means I'm going to have to navigate those bus and train schedules again. But it shouldn't be TOO hard now that I know what's going on... (knock on wood)

Headlines (Wednesday, June 09, 2004) |
Tonight I went to dinner with Justin, Jon Espinosa, John Scott, Robert Frain, and Rob Olsen. We had sushi at ___. Then we stood in front of a record store for half an hour trying to decide what to do. :) The Robs had to go home after that.
The rest of us ended up going to Splash and hanging out there for a while. Then the Johns went home, and Justin and I stopped by Beige at B Bar. We saw Graham Norton there as well as adult film actor Tag Eriksson, who's just as cute in person as he is on film.
Justin and I came home soon after. Walking in NYC is not as easy as it sounded. My feet aren't used to this.

Sleeeeeep (Tuesday, June 08, 2004) |
OK woke up at 3 PM again. Justin sleeps this late all the time, so he's a bad influence on me. Of course, i sleep this late all the time in Phoenix as well, and really it's only 12 noon for me.

June 7, 2004 (Tuesday, June 08, 2004) |
(I missed some days so I will fill them in later). OK So today I woke up about 3 PM... much too late to do the museums etc. Justin and I had a little breakfast (waffles), and eventually lunch (tortelinni) and we got to the city about 7 PM. It was raining for a bit but it soon dried up. I bought some t-shirts at Old Navy since I realized I did not pack enough shirts. We searched and searched for some shoes for me but we never found any. I'm sure we were supposed to do something with Robert Frain, and Sean and Dave, but I never found out what that was as Sean's phone was not connecting with mine. We went to the Boiler Room and then to Urge, both which were pretty dead. Justin's boyfriend Mike met us at Dicks. We finally hooked up with Sean and Dave about midnight at The Cock, and after a bit we walked them to their hotel. Mike, Justin and I met Napolean walking down 3rd Avenue and we went to eat at "Around The Clock" where we were served by an aging Bel Ami boy. Then Justin and I came home.

June 6, 2004 (Monday, June 07, 2004) |
Woke up about 2 PM at John Fehling's. We drove over to Justin's and he dropped me off. We had birthday dinner with Justin and his family. It was Jillian's birthday (19). We had baked Ziti. Then Justin and I went into the city. We walked through Little Italy and Chinatown until we got to the East Village and David Marshall's old apartment. We went to the Boy's Room and saw some hot bartenders, but it was very dead. We visited the Boiler Room and Sean and Dave met us there. We then took a cab to Duplex in the west village, and then went next door to Stonewall. I was filming the amateur strip contest when they told me I couldn't film inside the bar. So then we decided to go back to Sean and Dave's hotel, however, the hotel would not let us in... no visitors after 10 PM. So Justin and I took a cab back to Penn Station and came home.

June 2004 Trip Day 1 (Wednesday, June 02, 2004) |
I got to Los Angeles ok. My plane had a little turbulence out of Phoenix, but I'm still alive.
I'm staying with famous Echo Park lovelies Dave Specht and Sean Niles.
Dave picked me up at the Burbank Airport at 3:30 or so, and we went straight to In And Out Burger. Yummy. :) We stopped by the local Fry's Electronics (the UFO crash scene one) to get Dave a camera bag for the trip. We considered Scooby Doo walkie talkies...
Got home about 5, met their friend/gardener Johnny, and liberated porn (Freshmen)and photos (the general snapshot variety) from Dave's garage.
Sean got home and made a lovely dinner, something vegeterian and gaspatcho-ey.
We watched a little Blondie on DVD, and before we knew it the time was 10 PM. Turned on the Daily Show, and here we are.
Tomorrow I'm going to see Madonna with Martin Acampora. He emailed yesterday and asked me to go out of the blue. Since I can't give the ticket to Clint, I'll go. After, Dave says we should go to the wet underwear contest at the Guantlet. I hope Madonna doesn't do too many encores...
